G.D. Vajra Riesling offers a distinctive Italian interpretation of the varietal, praised for its petrol notes, citrus flavors, and mineral backbone. While some appreciate its complex structure and long finish, others note it lacks the finesse of German counterparts. Reviews highlight balanced acidity and evolving character with age, though price concerns and occasional roughness are mentioned.
The G.D. Vajra Riesling (Petracine) Langhe is a delightful wine that showcases the unique characteristics of the Langhe region in Italy. This Riesling offers a beautiful balance of acidity and sweetness, creating a harmonious and refreshing experience on the palate. On the nose, you can expect vibrant aromas of citrus fruits, such as lemon and lime, along with hints of green apple and white flowers. These aromas are complemented by subtle mineral notes, adding complexity to the wine. When it comes to the taste, the G.D. Vajra Riesling (Petracine) Langhe truly shines. It has a crisp and lively acidity that dances on the tongue, accompanied by flavors of ripe peaches, apricots, and zesty grapefruit. The sweetness is well-integrated, providing a pleasant and lingering finish. This wine is best enjoyed when served chilled, making it a perfect choice for warm summer days or as an aperitif. It also pairs wonderfully with seafood dishes, particularly shellfish, as well as spicy Asian cuisine. Overall, the G.D. Vajra Riesling (Petracine) Langhe is a fantastic representation of the Riesling grape variety and the Langhe region. Its vibrant flavors, refreshing acidity, and elegant structure make it a delightful choice for wine enthusiasts seeking a high-quality and versatile white wine.
