Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

The 2021 Averoldi Canterius Riesling presents a luminous straw hue with green reflections, indicative of its youthful vibrancy. On the nose, it unfurls a bouquet of white peach, lime zest, and honeysuckle, underscored by subtle flinty minerality. The palate is a masterclass in balance, showcasing a taut, linear acidity that elegantly frames its core of ripe stone fruit and citrus. A whisper of wet slate adds depth, while the finish is long and precise, echoing with a saline edge. This Riesling exemplifies the finesse and clarity expected from a top-tier expression of its varietal.

Averoldi Canterius Riesling is crafted from grapes grown in the cool, alpine-influenced climate of northern Italy, where the elevation and diurnal temperature shifts enhance the grape's natural acidity and aromatic profile. This dry Riesling undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its crisp, fruit-forward character, showcasing notes of green apple and citrus. The wine is designed to be enjoyed young, offering a refreshing and vibrant expression with a clean, mineral finish. Ideal for those who appreciate a well-balanced Riesling with a focus on purity and precision.
