Well-structured and long-lasting wine with a dry finish, demonstrating a mild cherry and grassy note, accompanied by a racy lacris finish.

What the web is saying

Fontanafredda Barolo receives mixed reviews. Many appreciate its rich, full-bodied character with notes of cherry, leather, and oak. Some find it well-structured and smooth, while others note a high acidity and strong tannins. While some vintages are praised for their complexity and aging potential, others are seen as lacking depth or being too dry. Overall, it's a solid choice for those who enjoy robust red wines.

Voss Experts4.8

Fontanafredda Barolo is a classic Italian red wine, with aromas of dark cherries, violets, and dried herbs. On the palate, it displays flavors of ripe red fruits, herbs, and spices, framed by soft, velvety tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with an attractive mineral freshness. Overall, this is a wonderful expression of Barolo, with a great balance between power and elegance.
