Domaine Sylvain Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 2023

Sophisticated and elegant wine with a clear lemon color, its reductive touches are well-defined and clear, with a understated sweetness that balances the palate. The layers of acacia, honey, apricot, orange peel, and lemon are skillfully intertwined, creating a harmonious and lean experience. The medium body and oily body add substance and complexity, while the dry finale leaves a long lived impression. The tartness is finely balanced, making this wine a captivating recommendation for those searching for a elegant and sophisticated sipping experience.

The optimal indulging times for this wine are 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours after opening. However, after 3 hours, the aroma and taste suddenly become slightly bitter, indicating a need for careful consideration when serving.

Sylvain Morey's entry-level C-M in the 19 vintage is refined, crisp, and precise, yet somewhat unremarkable. A pale straw yellow hue, it approaches the golden tones of white wine, with a lemony nose that supports the weight of stone fruits - pears and apples. The palate is medium-bodied, with a lively acidity, solid energy, and a pronounced minerality. The follow through is fairly linear, with a dry, rounded quality. Overall, a solid, if unexciting, entry point for those chasing a Morey wine.
