What the web is saying

Beringer Founders' Estate Merlot is praised for its rich fruit flavors, including plum, blackberry, and cherry, with notes of chocolate and oak. It offers a smooth, full-bodied experience with soft tannins. While some find it balanced and enjoyable for its price, others note a lack of complexity and occasional harshness. It's suitable for casual occasions and pairs well with meats and cheeses.

Voss Experts4.5

This Founders' Estate Merlot from Beringer offers a pleasant bouquet of cassis, cranberry, and blackberry, with a hint of toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a rich texture, showing a balance of bright acidity and juicy tannins. The flavors of ripe dark fruit, cocoa, and licorice linger on the finish. Enjoy this robust Merlot with a variety of dishes, from grilled steak to roasted vegetables.

Beringer Founders' Estate Merlot is a premium wine produced by Beringer Vineyards, one of the oldest and most respected wineries in Napa Valley. This wine is made from grapes grown in the finest vineyards of California's Central Coast appellation, known for its ideal climate and soil conditions. The vineyards are carefully tended to ensure the highest quality fruit, which is then handpicked and sorted to ensure only the best grapes are used. The winemaking process involves a combination of traditional and modern techniques, resulting in a wine that is rich, smooth, and full-bodied. The Beringer Founders' Estate Merlot is a classic example of a California Merlot, with flavors of black cherry, plum, and vanilla, and a long, satisfying finish.
