The Benevelli Piero Barolo Mosconi typically presents a deep garnet color, indicative of its intensity and depth. The nose is complex and rich, offering a bouquet of dried rose petals, tart cherries, and hints of truffles and leather, underscored by earthy undertones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and robust, with a firm structure that is characteristic of Nebbiolo. Layers of red fruit, licorice, and forest floor are woven together with well-integrated tannins and a vibrant acidity, leading to a long, evolving finish. Notes of spice and a mineral edge emerge, showcasing the wine’s complexity and the Mosconi vineyard’s unique terroir. This Barolo is a superb example of the finesse and power that Piedmont’s wines can achieve, suitable for extended aging and perfect for pairing with rich, savory dishes.

Rich and intense wine with a strong feel of alcohol, requiring patience to fully appreciate its nuances. After a brief period of decantation, it reveals a rich and layered character, with whispers of licorice, nutmeg, cherry, and burnt orange, accompanied by a bracing freshness and firm tannins. A good investment for those willing to wait, with potential for further aging.
