The estate of Petra is owned by the Moretti family. In 1997, the Moretti family and Professor Attilio Scienza began studying the estate's soils and developing a zoning project. The winery designed by Mario Botta was built between 2001 and 2003, and between 2003 and 2018, Petra worked with Marco Simonit and French oenologist Pascal Chatonnet. Situated in Suvereto, in the Val di Cornia within the province of Livorno, the estate spans around 300 hectares with roughly 100 hectares under vine across four zones. The San Lorenzo zone has pebbly calcareous clay soils where Merlot is the main variety, while the Riotorto zone has pebble-rich alluvial soils dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon. Bordeaux-style varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, and its wines include Petra, Quercegobbe, and Hebo.
On VinoVoss, Petra has 1 wine in stock: 1 red. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 24 ratings.
