Matthews is a winery with two tasting rooms in Woodinville. The Mercer family's roots in Washington's Horse Heaven Hills date to 1886, when they settled the land as sheep ranchers. In 1972, they planted the first wine grapes in the Horse Heaven Hills. In 2021, Alex took the helm at Matthews after nearly 17 years at Quilceda Creek, where he progressed from harvest intern to winemaker. The Mercers acquired Matthews in 2026 after growing fruit for the winery and its sister brands for years.

Matthews' grapes are sustainably grown and hand-harvested in Washington State across the Columbia Valley, with vines in the Royal Slope, Red Mountain and Horse Heaven Hills AVAs. The grape varieties range from Cabernet Sauvignon to Sauvignon Blanc.
On VinoVoss, Matthews has 9 wines in stock: 8 red, 1 white. Their average rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 147 ratings. Matthews is in the top 10% of the 23 rated Washington State wineries on VinoVoss.
