La Toledana was built in the mid-16th century by the Genoese Imperiale family, later passing to the Lercari and then Cambiaso families. A 1669 sharecropping contract designates Agostino Imperiale as the estate owner, specifying that wine produced was split equally with the estate manager. In 1779, the Cambiaso family acquired La Toledana as the dowry of Marchioness Marina Imperiale Lercari, and in the mid-19th century, the Cambiaso family planted the estate's first intensive Cortese vineyards to produce dry white wine for Liguria. The property is owned by the Martini family.

Located in Gavi, the estate grows Cortese grapes across vineyards that form a single contiguous parcel surrounding the villa. Its wines include Gavi del comune di Gavi docg.
