About La Poderina
La Poderina is a wine estate in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area of Montalcino. Tenute del Cerro, founded in 1978, began by acquiring Montecorona in Umbertide and Fattoria del Cerro in Acquaviva di Montepulciano, and later expanded with the acquisition of La Poderina.
In the vineyards, yields are 60 quintals per hectare, below the 80 quintals permitted by the production rules. In the cellar, the wines mature in French oak barriques as well as large barrels. Its wines include “Poggio Abate” Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Moscadello di Montalcino DOC.
