In the Middle Ages, the Grignano estate was home to the Conti Guidi and subsequently belonged to Catherine de' Medici, who gifted it to Bishop Marchese Enrico Gondi. In the early 1970s, the property came under the ownership of the Inghirami family of Borgo Sansepolcro, who later acquired Fattoria Pievecchia in 1999 to expand the estate.

The total estate covers 600 hectares, including over 40 farmsteads, with 50 hectares of vineyards, 200 hectares of olive groves, 100 hectares of arable land, and 250 hectares of forest. The property holds organic certification since 2008 and produces under the Chianti Rufina DOCG and Vinsanto del Chianti appellations. Grapes grown are Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Trebbiano toscano, Malvasia del Chianti, and Chardonnay, and winemaking facilities feature naturally climate-controlled spaces and barrel cellar aging.
On VinoVoss, Grignano has 1 wine in stock: 1 red. Their average rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 13 ratings.
