The Filomusi Guelfi estate has belonged to the family of the same name since the first half of the 1700s. Originating from Pesaro, the Filomusi family moved to Atri around 1500 and later relocated to Tocco da Casauria, where they married into the Guelfi family, who arrived in Abruzzo from Arezzo through Bernardo Tanucci's agrarian reform. The estate was run from 1982 to 2018 by Lorenzo Filomusi Guelfi, and Alessandro and Giovanni Filomusi Guelfi continue production in the family business. The historic winery, subject to architectural preservation, is located in the historic center of Tocco da Casauria. A document dating back to 1821 records the delivery of crates of Montepulciano grapes, and cellar storage capacity reaches nearly 1,550 hl using Slavonian oak casks, barriques, stainless steel tanks, and vitrified concrete vats.
