Ferrero was founded in the late 1990s and is run by the family, including daughters Silvia, Giulia, and Pepita. The cellar facilities were created by renovating a traditional stone barn and stable dating from the early 1900s.

Located in the Pascena locality, between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Sant'Angelo Scalo on the southern slope of Montalcino, the estate has 5.5 hectares of vineyards. These include 3 hectares of Sangiovese under the hill of Sant'Angelo in Colle and a vineyard in Montenero d'Orcia. Grapes grown are Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante, and Montepulciano. The vines are trained using the traditional spurred cordon system in poor and calcareous clay soil managed with organic fertilization, grassing, and green manuring, while the vine vegetative cycle is managed exclusively with manual interventions. Winemaking includes aging in large French oak barrels for Rosso and Brunello, and tonneaux and barriques for IGT.
