Domaine de la Mordorée was founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe. The domain is named after a poetic nickname for the woodcock (la bécasse). The estate is managed by Christophe's wife Madeleine Delorme and their daughter Ambre.

The domain is located in Tavel in the Southern Rhône Valley, with vineyards across the appellations of Tavel, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, Côtes-du-Rhône, Vin de France, and Condrieu. Its 42 hectares comprise 38 parcels located across eight different communes. Mourvèdre is grown on the estate, and young trellised vines are trained using the cordon de Royat system. The wines are certified organic since 2013, the estate is certified HVE level 3 since 2019, and the vineyard is certified Demeter biodynamic since 2020. Its wines include La Remise, La Dame Rousse, La Dame voyageuse, La Reine des Bois, and La Plume du peintre.
