Domaine Chante Cigale is a family wine estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In 1874, Hyppolite Jourdan renamed the 28-hectare family property Clos Chante Cigale. Paul Jourdan named it Domaine Chante Cigale in 1936, when Châteauneuf-du-Pape was declared France’s first AOC. Alexandre Favier runs the estate, continuing the family’s winemaking tradition.

Its vineyards span more than 40 hectares across 45 plots in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Favier has invested in equipment suited to these scattered vineyards, including concrete, stainless steel and egg-shaped vats, foudres and a terracotta jar. All the estate’s wines age in its cellars for several months before final blending. Its wines include Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
