Ceretto Casa Vinicola was established in Alba by Riccardo Ceretto, originally from Valdivilla, and has produced wine since 1937. His sons, Bruno and Marcello, purchased vineyards in the Langhe and Roero, including Barolo and Barbaresco. Alessandro Ceretto, the family's third generation, joined in the early 2000s after enology studies and international cellar experience.

Ceretto purchased Bricco Asili in Barbaresco and built its namesake winery between 1969 and 1973. It purchased Bricco Rocche in Castiglione Falletto and built a Barolo winery between 1978 and 1982, then moved its headquarters to Monsordo Bernardina Estate in Alba in 1989. Vineyard conversion to organic farming began in 2010; all products achieved organic certification from the 2015 vintage. In 2008, Alessandro began trials fermenting crus without selected yeasts. Fermentations use a pied de cuve, with fermentation and skin maceration lasting approximately 20 days. The use of new oak was reduced to preserve wine aromas. Wines include Barolo Bricco Rocche and Langhe Arneis Blangé.
