Cascina Chicco

Cascina Chicco is a winery founded by Ernesto, nicknamed “Chicu”, with vineyards in Canale, Vezza d’Alba, Castellinaldo d’Alba, Barbaresco and Monforte d’Alba. The nickname passed from Ernesto to Federico, then to subsequent generations of the Faccenda family and their children.

Cascina Chicco oversees more than 50 hectares of vineyards and has purchased surrounding woods and hazel groves to preserve hillside biodiversity. Its vineyard care combines minimised treatments with regular checks and residue analyses. The cellar has rooftop solar panels with a capacity of 40 kW, while its 5,000-square-metre underground construction, 28 metres beneath the hill, maintains constant temperatures for wine ageing, reduces the energy needed for air conditioning and meets energy class A.
