The Carlo Giacosa winery was founded in 1955, beginning its history on a farm owned by the Giacosa family in Barbaresco. Donato Giacosa was a founding member of the Cooperativa Produttori di Barbaresco, but in 1967, the family decided to stop selling Nebbiolo grapes to the cooperative and began producing Barbaresco under their own label. Run by the Giacosa family across four generations, leadership was officially passed to Carlo's daughter, Maria Grazia, in 2006, and in 2014, Luca joined the company, representing the fourth generation.

Located in Barbaresco, the estate has 5 hectares of estate vineyards. Carlo Giacosa purchased the Asili vineyard in 1964, the year of his marriage. The winery works with Nebbiolo grapes, and its wines include Barbaresco.
On VinoVoss, Carlo Giacosa has 1 wine in stock: 1 red. Their average rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 22 ratings.
