Capannelle was founded in 1974 when entrepreneur Raffaele Rossetti moved to a seventeenth-century farmhouse, and its first wine was released in 1975 as a table wine named Capannelle. Simone Monciatti has served as the enologist of Capannelle since 1984. In 1990, Solare was conceived in collaboration with Giorgio Pinchiorri and released on the market with the 1996 vintage.

The estate is located in Gaiole in Chianti, in Chianti Classico, and covers 35 hectares total, with 16 hectares of vineyards. Vineyard expansions included the acquisition of Il Trebbio (approximately 7 hectares) and Vertine (3 hectares), and the estate planted native grape varieties including Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera. For production, stainless steel fermentation vats and vessels are connected by steel pipelines with lever valves, while wood aging utilizes Slavonian oak truncated-conical vats and 225-liter French oak barriques, which have a maximum working life of 3 years. Its wines include Solare, 50 & 50, and Chardonnay.
On VinoVoss, Capannelle has 1 wine in stock: 1 red. Their average rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 80 ratings.
