The winery Broglia was founded in 1972 by the textile entrepreneur Bruno Broglia. The Broglia family cares for the estate, La Meirana. The estate of La Meirana was first mentioned in a document dated June 3, 972 AD, which is preserved at the State Archives of Genoa. In 1983, wine production at the estate was entrusted to Professor Lanati, who is a member of the OIV.

The estate La Meirana is located in Gavi. Its vineyards cover 70 contiguous hectares planted with the single grape variety Cortese. In the vineyards, agricultural farming follows the traditional Guyot training system, which was consolidated with Professor Eynard. For winemaking, the estate decided on the exclusive use of stainless steel vats during an era dominated by cement and wood.
