Binomio

Binomio is a wine producer owned by S. Inama and S. Di Properzio.

Its 4.2-hectare vineyard, completely restored in spring 2009, contains vines more than 50 years old. The site receives cool winds from the Maiella Natural Park and the Peligna Valley. The vines are an old Montepulciano biotype called the Africa clone, trained in the classic Abruzzese tendone system with three fruiting canes per vine. Viticulture is minimalist, with dense grass cover and very few interventions, while naturally formed humus has allowed fertilization to be eliminated. To produce a riserva in every vintage, yields are kept at around 50 quintals per hectare, with limited thinning.
