Bibbiano is a wine estate in Castellina in Chianti, within Chianti Classico. Its earliest reliable mention appears in a parchment dated 1089. It belonged to the Landi family from 1780 to 1833, before Michele Landi sold it in July 1833 to Don Tommaso di Bartolomeo dei Principi Corsini. The brothers Casimiro Marzi, a lawyer, and Pietro Marzi, an engineer, bought the estate, and their family has cultivated vines and olive trees since 1865. The estate overlooks the Val d’Elsa towards the castle of Monteriggioni. Its vineyards cover about 30 hectares on hillsides at altitudes of 270–310 metres, with Pliocene clay sediments rich in alberese rock. Sangiovese is used to make the estate’s wine.
