Armilla is a small family winery founded in 1980 in Tavernelle, Montalcino. The family chose the location with plans to restore a country house and plant a hillside vineyard. Its vineyards lie on Montalcino’s south-west slope at altitudes between 320 and 350 metres, where galestro-rich soils, afternoon sun and constant wind shape the growing conditions. Sangiovese grows here, and vineyard work is almost entirely manual, with measured pruning, restricted yields and no unnecessary interventions. Its wines include Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, with the Brunello made using parcel selection, long macerations and ageing in large oak casks.
On VinoVoss, Armilla has 2 wines in stock: 2 red. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 28 ratings.
