Zárate El Palomar Albariño

Bright and lively Albariño with a light, airy smoothness and a gentle evenness of flavors, expressing a unified blend of green apple, citrus, and herbal notes.

The El Palomar vineyard boasts a compact 0.5-hectare terrain, with a rugged, granite-based soil profile. Ungrafted, ancient albariño vines, spanning over 100 years, are trained on rustic pergolas supported by sturdy granite pillars. The wine is aged in a rich, oak-fermented foudre, on its lees, and undergoes a process of malolactic conversion.\n\nA bright, citrusy aroma emerges, with a tart lemon and orange note, complemented by nuanced pear and floral undertones. The mouthfeel is outlined by a refreshing, textural quality, tempered by a pronounced mineral impression and a sharp, mouthwatering acidity. The wine displays excellent length and a gratifying finish. A truly delightful experience.

Disappointing second installment in a series of three, where the best of the trio was noticeably absent.
