Zacharias Winery Assyrtiko is praised for its lively citrus and mineral profile, with notes of lime, green apple, and peach. It's often described as lean, crisp, and refreshing, making it ideal for seafood. While some appreciate its zesty and bright character, others find it too dry or lacking complexity. Overall, it offers good value and pairs well with Greek cuisine.
Exhibiting a pale straw hue with greenish reflections, the Zacharias Winery Assyrtiko opens with a vibrant bouquet of lemon zest, green apple, and a hint of saline minerality, characteristic of its Greek island origin. On the palate, this wine showcases a precise linearity, with bracing acidity that underscores its citrus and stone fruit core. The mid-palate reveals subtle nuances of white peach and wet stone, leading to a lingering, crisp finish marked by a whisper of sea breeze. This Assyrtiko stands as a quintessential expression of its varietal, offering both complexity and refreshing clarity, ideal for pairing with seafood or enjoying on its own.
