Robert Charmat's 1960s Chardonnay was a pioneering effort, initially described as Brut with an unexpected sweetness that developed over time. This 11% ABV wine was initially off-dry, but its sophistication was enhanced by the second day. A 3.4 rating is awarded for its fruity and floral notes, featuring apples, pears, and lemon zest. The golden hue is reminiscent of peaches and a light brioche undertone. The wine's linger is velvety and pleasant, with a 85% Wine Enthusiast rating.
