Travaglini Gattinara Tre Vigne 2019

Truly exceptional Gattinara, highlighting the best of Travaglini's top vineyards in a cohesive blend. Aged to perfection as a riserva, this wine is a masterclass in symmetry and depth.

Hearty and full-bodied wine with a rich, soft texture. The tannins and liveliness are well-balanced, providing a sense of backbone and depth. The aroma is highlighted by touches of earthy undertones, with touches of mineral and tobacco. The profiles are complex, featuring a mix of sweet and savory elements, featuring cherry and roasted apple, as well as a elegant warmth of cinnamon.

Nuanced and layered wine with a rich, mellow texture, boasting a deep, rich cherry pigment and a nuanced black pepper undertone. The nose is defined by by a floral note, with layers of lavender and a light earthy undertone. The flavor is described by a smooth, med-tannin profile and a crisp, clean acidity. As the wine unfolds, it reveals a more pronounced fruitiness, albeit one that is somewhat muted. The backbone is well-balanced, but the wine's in summary character feels somewhat one-dimensional. With time in the bottle, it is likely to reveal more depth and complexity, but for now, it is a solid, if unremarkable, wine.
