Remarkable value for its price, I highly recommend it to those who have already tried it. It's worth revisiting, and I'm confident you'll appreciate it again. Allow it to sit on a decanter for 20 minutes before sipping.

Sophisticated and fascinating wine tasting unfolds on the palate, with a surprising evenness of sweet and tart notes. The earthy shades add substance and nuance, even as the conclusion is satisfyingly long and refined.

What the web is saying

Thymiopoulos Naoussa is praised for its earthy, red fruit flavors, and excellent value. It features notes of cherry, raspberry, and spices, with a medium body and slightly grippy tannins. While some find it harmonious and smooth, others suggest it benefits from decanting or cellaring. Its lively finish and complex nose make it a versatile choice for pairing with various cuisines.

Voss Experts4.5

A quintessential expression of Xinomavro from the Naoussa region, this wine presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its robust character. The nose is a complex tapestry of sun-dried tomato, black olive, and rose petal, underscored by a subtle earthiness. On the palate, it reveals a medium-bodied structure with firm, yet refined tannins and a vibrant acidity that speaks to its aging potential. Flavors of red cherry and dried herbs are interwoven with hints of anise and leather, leading to a long, savory finish. This wine stands as a benchmark for the region's traditional style.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
