The nose surprised me; the scent was evocative of ripe tomatoes on the vine, with a light herbaceous undertone.

Full bodied and rich wine with a complex character featuring toasted marshmallow, chocolate, and pipe smoke notes, polished by a silky texture and a enjoyable midrange that yields chocolate cordial and delicate spice on the finish.

Concentrated and full-bodied blend that has stood the test of time, this wine has been a staple in my cellar for years. Its complex composition and robust layers make it a perfect match for a hearty meal.

What the web is saying

Psagot Edom Red is a rich, full-bodied wine praised for its complex flavors and aromas, including oak, forest floor, black fruits, and spices. While some appreciate its smoothness and long finish, others note its high alcohol content. The wine pairs well with hearty meals and cheeses, and offers potential for aging. Opinions vary on its boldness, with some finding it overpowering for casual sipping.

Voss Experts4.5

This Israeli blend, cloaked in a deep garnet hue, exudes a bouquet of ripe blackcurrant and plum, intertwined with hints of cedar and subtle spice. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious structure, where velvety tannins meet a vibrant acidity, creating a seamless balance. The mid-palate is enriched with layers of dark chocolate and a whisper of dried herbs, leading to a long, elegant finish. This wine exemplifies the robust yet refined character of Judean Hills terroir, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a sophisticated expression of the region's red blends.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
