Pascal Janvier Jasnieres Blanc

Lingering character of ethanol, accompanied by a mineral and dry undertone, returns in the background.

Deep and compelling chenin with a distinctive oxidative character, evocative of bruised apples and tropical fruit notes, with a dash of honey and baby powder. The tartness is well-balanced, and the mouthfeel is pleasantly low in alcohol, making it a superb offering for its price. in contrast the oxidative quality is notable, it's not enough to detract from the wine's on the whole balance and flavor profile. A well-crafted chenin that would benefit from a bit more refinement, but still a solid effort.

The wine's floral undertones and orange nuances complement the spicy Asian noodles, as its honey and green apple suggestions add a touch of warmth and depth. The sweetness is smooth by a note of spice, making it a well-rounded and enjoyable pairing.
