The 2019 Panevino Survivor presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its robust character. On the nose, it reveals an intricate bouquet of ripe blackberries, dried herbs, and a subtle hint of dark chocolate, underscored by a mineral edge. The palate is full-bodied and well-structured, with velvety tannins providing a firm backbone to the wine's concentrated fruit core. A lively acidity enlivens the mid-palate, leading to a long, savory finish with whispers of anise and earthy undertones. This wine exemplifies the rugged elegance of Sardinian terroir, offering a compelling expression of its unique landscape.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Panevino Survivor is a distinctive red wine from Sardinia, Italy, crafted by winemaker Gianfranco Manca. The vineyard benefits from the Mediterranean climate, with warm days and cool nights that enhance the grape's ripening process. This wine is made from a blend of indigenous grape varieties, fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral vessels to preserve the purity of fruit expression. The result is a robust, earthy wine with a vibrant acidity and a complex profile, showcasing the unique terroir of Sardinia. Ideal for those seeking an authentic representation of the region's winemaking tradition.
