Polished Merlot from Washington.

Rich, full-bodied wine with a deep, concentrated color and a complex, layered profile. The tastes of blackberry, black raspberry, and spices are balanced by a crisp, lean acidity, while the tannins provide a firm, structured backbone. The finale is long and satisfying, with a nuance of charred wood and cedar notes. Overall, a well-made wine with a good cohesion of backbone and elegance. right for aging and pairing with a variety of dishes. 87/100.

What the web is saying

Novelty Hill Merlot is praised for its rich, full-bodied character, featuring flavors of blackberry, cherry, and plum, with notes of spice, vanilla, and oak. While some enjoy its smooth, polished texture and long finish, others find it slightly acidic or lacking refinement. The wine is considered a good value, suitable for pairing with various dishes and enjoyable both young and aged.

Voss Experts3.8

This Novelty Hill Merlot has a deep ruby color and inviting aromas of ripe cherries and wild herbs. On the palate, it offers bold flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and plum, with hints of anise, earth, and pepper. The tannins are soft and supple, and the finish is long and lingering. Enjoy this complex and flavorful wine with roasted meats, creamy pastas, and hard cheeses.
