A multi faceted and interesting sherry with a rich, woody character, paired by toasted and smoky notes. The fruit is soft and dark, with plum, cherry, and prune nuances that are both sweet and savory. The close is dry and bitter, with a lingering sweetness and a undertone of toasted wood.

What the web is saying

Maynard's Colheita Port is praised for its rich, indulgent flavors of dried fruits like figs, raisins, and prunes, along with notes of chocolate, coffee, and nuts. While some vintages are noted for their smooth and satisfying finish, others have a dry, bitter close. Overall, it is a well-regarded choice for those who enjoy a complex, sweet, and savory port experience.

Voss Experts4.6

Maynard's Colheita Port exudes a beautiful amber color with golden highlights, indicative of its age and refined character. The aroma is a seductive blend of caramelized nuts, dried fruits like figs and dates, and hints of orange zest, alongside subtle notes of spice and oak. On the palate, it is rich and velvety, offering a harmonious balance between sweetness and acidity. Flavors of roasted almonds, vanilla, and a touch of coffee emerge, melded with the mature fruitiness of the wine. The finish is long and elegant, leaving behind echoes of its complex flavors and a warm, satisfying sensation. This Colheita Port is an exquisite sipping wine, ideal for enjoying on its own or as a luxurious accompaniment to desserts, cheese, or a cozy evening.
