Mayer Dr. Mayer Gamay is praised for its bracing freshness and silky mouthfeel, with a bold, spicy character featuring herbs, spices, and a hint of white pepper. While some enjoy its fiery jalapeño aroma, others may find its boldness overwhelming. At 12% ABV, it offers a unique Australian wine experience.
Displaying a vibrant ruby hue, the Mayer Dr. Mayer Gamay captivates with its aromatic bouquet of wild strawberries, red currants, and a whisper of white pepper, underscored by a subtle earthiness. On the palate, this wine reveals a lithe, medium-bodied structure, with silky tannins and a lively acidity that invigorates the senses. The interplay of juicy red fruit and a delicate minerality culminates in a refined, lingering finish. This Gamay exemplifies the varietal's potential outside of Beaujolais, offering a fresh yet complex profile that invites both immediate enjoyment and thoughtful contemplation.
