Massolino Barbaresco

Nebbiolo

Massolino Barbaresco is a renowned Italian red wine that hails from the Barbaresco region in Piedmont. This wine is made primarily from the Nebbiolo grape variety, which is known for producing complex and age-worthy wines. In terms of appearance, Massolino Barbaresco typically exhibits a deep ruby red color with hints of garnet as it ages. On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by floral notes of rose petals and violets. There are also often hints of spices like cinnamon and anise, as well as earthy undertones of truffle and forest floor. On the palate, Massolino Barbaresco showcases a harmonious balance between its fruit, acidity, and tannins. The red fruit flavors persist, with additional layers of dried fruit, leather, and licorice emerging. The wine's tannins are typically firm but refined, providing structure and a pleasant mouthfeel. With age, these tannins soften and integrate further, resulting in a velvety texture. When it comes to food pairings, Massolino Barbaresco pairs wonderfully with traditional Italian dishes such as risotto, pasta with rich meat sauces, and roasted meats like lamb or game. Its elegance and structure also make it a great match for aged cheeses.
