Mary Taylor Filipe Ferreira Douro is praised for its rich fruit flavors, particularly plum and blackberry, with earthy and leather undertones. It has a well-balanced structure with smooth tannins and a velvety finish. While some appreciate its opulence and sophistication, others note its strong tannins and acidity. Overall, it offers great value for its price, making it a popular choice among consumers.
A deep garnet hue introduces this Douro red, revealing a bouquet of blackcurrant, plum, and a hint of graphite, underscored by subtle notes of cedar and dried herbs. The palate is robust yet elegant, showcasing a harmonious interplay of ripe dark fruit, firm tannins, and vibrant acidity. Mid-palate complexity emerges with nuances of dark chocolate and a mineral edge, leading to a long, structured finish. This wine exemplifies the Douro's potential for producing refined, age-worthy reds, offering a compelling expression of terroir and craftsmanship that will reward patient cellaring.
