Hawk and Horse Vineyards Cabernet Franc 2019

The 2017 Hawk and Horse Vineyards Cabernet Franc is praised for its deep, full-bodied profile with black currants, blueberries, and oak. It offers a velvety texture and a well-balanced, fruit-forward palate. While some appreciate its complexity and aging potential, others might find it too concentrated. Overall, it's seen as a refined wine that will improve over time.

This Cabernet Franc reveals a deep garnet hue, indicative of its concentrated character. The nose is a complex tapestry of blackcurrant, graphite, and a hint of green bell pepper, underscored by subtle notes of cedar and violet. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of ripe plum and red cherry flavors, supported by a firm tannic structure and vibrant acidity. The mid-palate is expansive, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish with whispers of dark chocolate and a touch of spice. This wine exemplifies the elegance and depth typical of a well-crafted California Cabernet Franc.
