This deep garnet Cabernet Sauvignon from Hawk and Horse Vineyards reveals a bouquet of blackcurrant and cassis, underscored by hints of cedar and graphite, indicative of its Lake County terroir. The palate is robust yet elegant, with finely integrated tannins providing a velvety texture. Layers of dark chocolate and ripe plum unfold, complemented by a touch of dried herbs and a mineral edge. The wine's structure is both powerful and balanced, with a long, graceful finish that speaks to its aging potential. A quintessential expression of Californian Cabernet, poised for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring.

Phong Baleia
The initial impact was one of deep fruit aromas, with plum, blackberry, and tart cherry notes. The texture was dry and hot, with a lack of depth. However, after a 30-minute decantation, the wine underwent a remarkable transformation, softening and revealing a more deep character. The lasting impression was delightful and refreshing, with a lingering sweetness.
Oaky
Disappointing comprehensively experience, considering the region and vintage, but not particularly noteworthy.

Outstanding value for $20, K&L's price is unbeatable. It pairs well with steak, a classic pairing. The bottle claims to be 'Old World', but tastes more like a California wine to me. It's bone dry, with a long finish. I'd buy it again, and I'd recommend it to others.

Hawk and Horse Vineyards Block Three Cabernet Sauvignon receives mixed reviews. While some appreciate its deep fruit aromas and transformation after decanting, others find it lacks depth. Notable for its cranberry and cherry flavors, it pairs well with steak and offers a silky finish. Some find it reminiscent of California wines rather than Old World. The wine is praised for its elegance and balance, but some vintages disappoint.
