This Vallegrande Barbaresco pours a mesmerizing garnet in the glass, with ethereal aromas of rose petals, tart cherries, and hints of truffle and spice. The palate is greeted with the finesse of finely woven tannins and a bright acidity that animates the rich tapestry of flavors ranging from fresh red fruits to deeper undertones of earth and leather. There's an elegant interplay between fruit and savory notes, leading to a persistent finish that echoes with the spice and minerality that are the hallmarks of a classic Barbaresco. Approachable now, it also promises potential for cellaring.

Myr
Concentrated and polished wine with a complex garnet hue, featuring layers of tobacco and a note of smokiness. The tannins are well-balanced, providing a soft and rounded mouthfeel. A subtle minerality adds substance to the wine, even as a touch of freshness provides a crisp contrast. The fruit expression is defined by plum and chocolate flavors, with a gentle white pepper finish. A well-crafted wine with a mellow and rounded finish. 90/100 points.
Nataki
The tannins are subdued, yielding a more sophisticated and elegant Barbaresco experience. The nose reveals a soft, dried fig and prune character, with a note of raspberry that has been aged to a marmalade-like intensity. The impression is outlined by a medium level of tannins, which provide a smooth, rounded texture. As the wine ages, understated whispers of cancerous flavors and a hidden strawberry begin to emerge, adding dimension and sophistication to the broadly profile.
Marielus
Ruby colour with a brick rim. A nuanced nose featuring pomegranate, tar, and red currant notes, with leather and balsamic undertones. The tongue is balanced, with a smooth follow through that gradually reveals intense black tea tannins.

Grasso Fratelli Vallegrande Barbaresco is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with notes of leather, cherry, and earthy undertones. Many appreciate its balanced tannins and complex flavors, though some find it slightly astringent or needing decanting. The wine's nuanced aromas and smooth texture are highlights, while its aging potential is noted. Opinions vary on its dryness, with some enjoying the crisp finish, while others prefer a softer profile.
