What the web is saying

Elvio Cogno Barbaresco Bordini receives praise for its complex flavor profile featuring cherry, strawberry, and leather notes, complemented by spices and a silky texture. While many appreciate its aging potential and balanced tannins, some find it underwhelming or lacking depth. The wine shows consistent quality across vintages, though occasional reviews cite flatness or overpricing.

Voss Experts4.7

The Elvio Cogno Barbaresco Bordini typically presents a beautiful garnet color, characteristic of Nebbiolo. The nose is an enticing blend of aromas: ripe red fruits like cherries and raspberries, complemented by floral notes of rose and violet, and hints of spice, earth, and truffle. The aging in oak barrels may add subtle notes of vanilla and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is robust yet refined, displaying flavors of red berries, plum, and a hint of licorice, intertwined with a firm tannic structure and a bright acidity that contributes to its overall balance and longevity. The finish is long and elegant, with a lingering minerality and a nuanced complexity. Elvio Cogno's Barbaresco Bordini is a wine that beautifully encapsulates the harmony between power and elegance, suitable for aging and perfect for pairing with rich, savory dishes.
