Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

The De Krans Tritonia Verdelho presents a luminous straw hue, indicative of its vibrant character. On the nose, it offers an intricate bouquet of ripe stone fruits, notably apricot and peach, interwoven with subtle floral notes and a hint of saline minerality. The palate is elegantly structured, showcasing a harmonious balance between its refreshing acidity and a creamy, full-bodied texture. Layers of citrus zest and a whisper of almond provide depth, leading to a lingering, mineral-driven finish. This wine exemplifies the potential of Verdelho in capturing both intensity and finesse, making it a standout in its category.

De Krans Tritonia Verdelho is crafted in the Klein Karoo region of South Africa, where the semi-arid climate and rugged terrain contribute to the grape's unique character. The Verdelho grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and acidity. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh, vibrant fruit flavors typical of the variety. The wine exhibits a medium-bodied profile with bright acidity, showcasing notes of citrus and stone fruit. This style is intended for those who appreciate a crisp, refreshing white wine with a focus on varietal purity and regional expression.
