Castillo de Monjardin Barrica Selección Chardonnay is praised for its full-bodied and luscious texture, with flavors of citrus, stone fruits, and oak. While some appreciate its vibrant acidity and nuanced vanilla undertones, others find it may not age well. The wine's elegant balance and plush texture make it a delightful choice, though opinions vary on its aging potential.
Displaying a luminous straw hue, this Chardonnay unveils a bouquet of ripe stone fruits, notably peach and apricot, interwoven with delicate nuances of toasted almond and subtle vanilla from judicious oak aging. On the palate, it offers a harmonious blend of creamy texture and vibrant acidity, underscored by a mineral backbone that speaks to its terroir. The mid-palate is enriched with hints of lemon curd and a whisper of white florals, culminating in a lingering, well-defined finish. This wine exemplifies the finesse and balance characteristic of Navarra's premium Chardonnays, making it a compelling choice for connoisseurs.
