Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

This Barolo presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its noble lineage. The bouquet unfurls with layers of dried rose petals, tar, and ripe red cherries, underscored by hints of anise and forest floor. On the palate, it is full-bodied and impeccably structured, with firm, yet refined tannins that promise longevity. The acidity is vibrant, providing a backbone that supports the wine's complex flavors of dark plum, licorice, and earthy minerality. The finish is long and resonant, echoing with notes of dried herbs and a whisper of leather. A quintessential expression of Piedmont's terroir, this wine is poised for extended aging.

Cascina d'Or Barolo is crafted from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the prestigious Barolo region of Piedmont, Italy. The vineyard benefits from a continental climate with warm summers and foggy autumns, ideal for Nebbiolo's late ripening. Traditional winemaking techniques include extended maceration and aging in large Slavonian oak casks, enhancing the wine's structure and complexity. This Barolo offers a full-bodied experience with firm tannins and balanced acidity, showcasing flavors of dark cherry, dried herbs, and earthy undertones. It is designed for aging, allowing its nuanced profile to evolve over time, appealing to those who appreciate classic Italian reds.
