Carra Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso

Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta

Carra Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso is a delightful Italian red wine that offers the unique winemaking technique known as "ripasso." This wine is produced in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, Italy, which is renowned for its high-quality red wines. In terms of appearance, Carra Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso typically exhibits a deep ruby color with hints of garnet at the rim. On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, accompanied by subtle floral notes and a touch of spice. On the palate, this wine displays a medium to full body with a velvety texture and well-integrated tannins. The ripe fruit flavors persist, complemented by nuances of dried herbs, forest floor, and a hint of cocoa. The balanced acidity adds freshness and contributes to a long, satisfying finish. Carra Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso is known for its complexity and depth, thanks to the ripasso method employed during its production. This technique involves refermenting the wine on the skins of Amarone, a rich and concentrated wine made from dried grapes. As a result, Carra Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso gains additional structure, intensity, and complexity. This wine is a versatile companion to a wide range of dishes. It pairs wonderfully with traditional Italian cuisine, such as pasta dishes with rich tomato-based sauces, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
