Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

This crystalline, pale straw-hued wine embodies the alpine purity of Savoie. On the nose, it reveals a delicate bouquet of white blossoms, green apple, and a hint of wet stone minerality, indicative of its terroir. The palate is light-bodied yet vibrant, with a precise acidity that underscores flavors of citrus zest and pear, seamlessly integrated with a subtle saline edge. The finish is clean and refreshing, with a whisper of almond skin bitterness that adds complexity. This wine exemplifies the finesse and elegance typical of the Jacquère grape, making it a quintessential expression of the region.

This dry white wine is crafted from the Jacquère grape, native to the Savoie region in the French Alps. The vineyards are situated on limestone-rich soils, benefiting from the cool alpine climate, which preserves the grape's natural acidity and fresh character. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to maintain purity of fruit and crispness. The resulting wine is light-bodied with bright citrus and green apple notes, complemented by a mineral undertone. It is intended to be enjoyed young, offering a refreshing and clean profile ideal for pairing with seafood or alpine cheeses.
