Alessandro Rivetto Barolo is praised for its complex aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and raspberry, with subtle leather and forest floor notes. It offers a smooth, full-bodied experience with well-balanced tannins and a gratifying finish. While some find it exceptional, others feel it lacks the standout quality expected of Barolo, noting a plain taste in some vintages.
The 2018 Alessandro Rivetto Barolo presents a garnet hue, indicative of its Nebbiolo heritage. The bouquet unfolds with layers of dried rose petals, red cherry, and subtle hints of anise, underscored by a whisper of earthy minerality. On the palate, it showcases a robust structure with firm, yet finely integrated tannins and a vibrant acidity that speaks to its aging potential. The flavors echo the nose, enriched by notes of black tea and a touch of balsamic reduction, culminating in a long, elegant finish. This Barolo exemplifies the classic style of the Langhe region, offering both complexity and finesse.
