Witwe Dr. H. Thanisch Erben Müller-Burggraef

The family behind Witwe Dr. H. Thanisch Erben Müller-Burggraef acquired the Doctor vineyard at the beginning of the 19th century. Later, the estate was split between the widow's two daughters according to Napoleonic inheritance law, adding the lineage designation Erben Müller-Burggraef. In 2015, the estate erected a newly built modern winery building with a vinotheque.

The winery cultivates 16 hectares of steep Riesling slopes, with holdings including Berncasteler Doctor, Bernkasteler Graben, Bernkasteler Lay, and Bernkasteler Badstube. Slopes with an inclination of over 60% require hand labor throughout the year, and vines are trained using the single-stake system. Must is extracted via whole-cluster pressing after grapes are sorted and received in the cellar. Fermentation is predominantly spontaneous and proceeds at cool temperatures without additives.
