About TOR
TOR is a family-owned producer of Napa wines, founded in 2001 by Tor and his wife Susan. Jeff Ames is its winemaker, and TOR has worked with Andy Beckstoffer on Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard since 2005.
Its focus is small-production, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay from Napa, with TOR’s vine rows at Beckstoffer To Kalon managed to one cluster per shoot. Its wines include the flagship Black Magic and the 2024 To Kalon, which fermented on the skins for 25 days before gentle basket pressing and 20 months in French oak barrels, 80% new. The 2024 To Kalon was bottled unfined and unfiltered, with tasting guiding both its fermentation time and decisions throughout winemaking.
