Rozès was founded in Bordeaux in 1855 by Ostende Rozès, a wine merchant from that city. The company began by importing and commercializing Port wine. After four generations and more than one hundred years, Casa Rozès ceased to belong to the founding family in 1977. Rozès became part of the Maison Pommery & Associés Group in 1999 and belongs to the Champagne group Vranken-Pommery Monopole.

The cellars as well as the administrative and commercial center of the company are located in Vila Nova de Gaia. The estate holdings are distributed across nine quintas in the Douro. Winemaking takes place at the winemaking center located at Quinta de Monsul in Cambres. In 2017, Rozès started a transition to organic agriculture across approximately 20 hectares of vineyards, with the gradual elimination of herbicides, pesticides, and other phytosanitary products.
