In 1906, Quinta de la Rosa was bought for Claire as a christening present by her English grandmother. Owned by the Bergqvist family, La Rosa produced Douro table wine using indigenous port grapes in 1991 with winemaker David Baverstock. Jorge Moreira joined as full-time winemaker in 2002.

Located 2 km from Pinhão in the Cima Corgo sub-region, the estate has 62 hectares of vines, and the estate's grapes are all classified as category A. Vineyards are dry-farmed except during the establishment of young vines using drip irrigation, and they are certified as sustainable by ADVID. All grapes at La Rosa are hand-picked. For ports, stems are kept and grapes undergo consecutive nights of foot-treading in lagares during fermentation. Tawny Ports are aged in 550-liter pipes, whereas Vintage-style ports are aged in tonels. Its wines include Tim Grande Reserva white wine, Vale do Inferno red wine, Passagem Grande Reserva red wine, Tawny Port 20 years old, Vintage Port 2007, and Vintage Port 2017.
